The Clearlight is the highest fluence saunas of all that I tested.
Their wooden saunas use non toxic water based glues just like the Heavenly heat saunas and have no out gassing.
Their heaters are the only ones that have the carbon and ceramic for the widest range of the far infrared range. Many people that buy the cheap saunas that don't care about the wood that are in low moisture cities but the cheap plywood type for about 600 bucks and buy the Clearlight combo heaters separately to put in their old sauna.
Clearlight also sells kits as more and more people are building their own saunas with wood kits. It risky but much cheaper this way.
Their heaters have the 2nd longest range of FIR (Therasauna is the widest and super expensive. This is the only other one that I rate higher than the Clearlight but there are some disadvantages as there is less coverage but higher on the far infrared "isolate" spectrum.
Their heaters stay the lowest as the carbon goes to one temp and the ceramic another so you get the heat while the carbon stays lower giving a broad range. The lower the heaters stay on the wider the range of far infrared but the more the heaters are jacked up high, the more heat generated and the room gets hotter and the body core temperature goes to 3 degrees higher than body temp quicker and the session, especially for detox, is shorter. I promote the Clearlight as a detox sauna mostly. The heaters definitely have a much different feel than any other sauna I've been in.
The longer the heaters emit fir in the range of 9.4 microns which is the most absorbable by the body, its the most soothing feeling. Saunas that have the opposite of this are the saunas in the gym that get very hot that do not put out far infrared.
I prefer their 20 amp saunas over their 15 amp model even though they are the same heaters and power but just have more fluence. Make sure you know if you have a 20 amp outlet. Its cheap to install one if there isn't one.
The heaters stay on almost the entire time on their saunas. The way to tell if the sauna is really putting out far infrared is to see if the skin is oily, not just wet. After the body is dried off the skin will stay oily when dried off.
Their heaters take about 10 minutes in the summer and 15 minutes in the winter to heat up to full blast.
The sessions in the Clearlight sauna are much shorter due to its fluence. The body core is heated up very quickly compared to other brands which are also good but just different. Drinking cold water helps people stay in longer as the core doesn't heat up 3 degrees as fast, especially while drinking ice water. I drink infused coconut water. I try to keep my voltage up the entire time as if I burn too many calories if I stay in a long time. I also infuse the heaters too which gives the sauna a totally different fluence feel. These are stickers that I put on the sauna next to the heater that the far infrared acts as a direct carrier wave or the heaters.
The nordic spruce CE2 model is their most affordable model. It has the same heaters as the cedar versions but way cheaper. If you don't care about getting grade A cedar, then the ce2 model is affordable and enjoyed by most people. Its actually once of the most popular saunas on my site. Their ceramic gives the deep penetration of the far infrared while the carbon part gives the wide spectrum wavelength giving the high surface area so someone doesn't have to keep moving positions to get their whole body exposed to the rays.
Cedar does last longer than the other types of woods. it also has a certain smell. I suggest people get some cedar wood and smell it before they get it to make sure they like the smell. For those nasty people that flick sweat everywhere off their brow, the cedar is anti bacterial so its cool for that too. Just say cedar saunas don't get that funky smell like almost all other woods when not cleaned.
The cedar wood on the Clearlight has the deep reddish shades, not the cheaper cuts of wood that are reserved for other companies.
With the spruce, it cant be sanded like the cedar. Cedar wood can be sanded and look just like a brand new sauna. many people sand their cedar saunas from time to time.
Note: The clearlight doest really look as good as the other saunas as it doesn't have a glass door which makes it look good. It has wood in front instead but with front heaters. If you don't mind not being able to see out though a window then its fine for most people. Most people get on the the back and side heaters but front heaters are missing. This brings more fluence to the session by having the front heaters.
The Clearlight sauna is also low emf, actually the lowest I have tested so far. I do my testes with a Dr Gauss meter which costs about 30 dollars. The heaters in the Clearlight saunas since 2013 that I have tested are not the same as their older ones. Clearlight invented the first Low emf heater by putting two heaters back to back to transmute the emf instead of using just Emf shielded protective wirings that just block some of the
They have a life time warranty on their saunas so if anything stops working, in the last 7 years, they have fixed every problem and not had one angry customer of mine. I am usually on the phone on a 3 way call to make sure my customers get taken care of if there is any problem when something goes wrong.
The Clearlight sauna has no smell like some of the cheaper saunas that have the glues that have that awful smell. The wood on a Clearlight does not have a foul smell at all and their wood is smooth. The wood panels are also the most matched up as some saunas have one wall that is totally off color than the other wall and it looks like it was just thrown together. Its nice to have all the walls close to the same shade.
Note: The clearlight heaters with its carbon and ceramic are NOT two separate heaters. Its a combo single heater. Many people like the ceramic as it produces more far infrared but can have cold spots if just ceramic alone. The micron range is lower but they produce lots of fluence. The Carbon has a longer wavelength at low temperatures but don't penetrate as deep. Their rays are longer and cover more surface area and don't get as hot.
Cons: I hate to do this but this is the sauna that I use and love it but the only thing I don't like on the wooden saunas is that the temperature cannot be set. Its either on or its off. This is the main reason I rate the Therasauna one step above the Clearlight. The Therasaunas are also about 500 lbs for their 2 person saunas and cost almost double of a Clearlight, being the 2nd most expensive sauna on the market. The Curve is their only one that the heat can be controlled and is one of the most popular saunas for those that need high fluence but also want to control its intensity. The Curve lay down sauna is the model that most people buy that buy for detox as people can stay in these the longest of all saunas, especially with an oxygen concentrator.
Some people like the carbon only as it doesn't get as hot and they can stay in longer but they crave the deep penetration of the ceramic or the rod saunas. Even when I sat in a Therasauna I can appreciate the carbon heaters which the Therasauna lacks but the ceramic rods in that sauna makes up for the difference. When I go in a 100% carbon sauna I know how that feels and I like the full body coverage but some people don't want to anything but burn calories and not detox.
The carbon is better for some people and the rod or ceramic heaters preferred by others only. The Clearlight combo heater is good for those that want the best of both worlds. Some people need a lower heat sauna that might want to stay in for a double or triple session. If I know the reason someone is buying a sauna I can better recommend a sauna. The clearlight is the most intense of all the saunas I've been in. It is not for everyone. There are some precautions of using a higher fluence sauna when the body core is getting up to 3 degrees quicker. As long as these precautions are taken then I would only recommend this sauna.
The CE2 is the least expensive sauna high fluence sauna. If living in a low moisture area, the nordic spruce CE2 is one of my recommendations. It is much cheaper than Ceder wood. It weighs about 275 lbs and has no off gassing.
I only recommend this sauna if high fluence is what someone is looking for.
The Clearlight sauna have the highest fluence of all saunas I have tested. All Clearlight saunas ship directly from the manufacturer in California.

Sauna Detox: (With a high fluence sauna like the Clearlight, I strongly recommend reading this.
Many people want to sweat like a pig and raise their core temp quickly and others want to detox and do a longer and slower session.
Some saunas deliver more far infrared and can detox people quicker but if their liver is already overloaded it can be too much.
Many people drink a lot of water in the sauna but all this does is keep the body from sweating and the core temperature lower. I prefer to drink afterwards and let my body core heat up. When my body is ready to get out of the sauna it will. When the body core is higher the fat cells can vibrate and release the toxins faster. The dosages of the low temperature far infrared should be balanced with the high temperatures.
Detoxing the fat cells by sweating like a pig can mean temporary fat loss as the fat is used for energy while removing the toxins from the fat can mean more permanent fat loss. If the body can't process all these toxins they can diffuse back into the body. I strongly recommend an aggressive probiotic and liver supplement if a person is going to be doing a heavy detox.
Note: detoxing in a sauna is a 3 part problem. 1. Your liver must release enough "lipo philic" toxins into the bile. 2. Enough must trigger the bile to release so the lipo philic toxins make it to the gut. 3. The lipo philic toxins need to prevent from being reabsorbed. Most people get in the sauna and want to get out and try to get the job done as quick as possible and they never get the chance to release these toxins out of the body. They just get reabsorbed.
When these toxins don't get released and relocate in the body this is when more problems happen. Most people trying to detox in a sauna don't have a good enough elimination system to start with to do the full sessions the way how all the people with these crazy testimonials give on most manufacturer's websites. Its just a low minority of people.
Most people abandon using the infrared sauna when they don't see results and blame it on the sauna. The a good sauna usually can do the job but if the lymphatic system is too sluggish and the person is not supplementing their deficient immune system.
The people that do frequent and long sauna sessions have a small guarantee they will detox. Most people over do it when thy don't see results and usually abandon the sauna after 3 months when they don't see results. Lipo philic (fat toxins) are fat soluble, not water soluble so just sweating like a pig a bunch of water based sweat usually doesn't help those trying to detox.
Also, over detoxing in a sauna faster than the body can process the wastes can cause lipo philic toxicity. If the toxins that were in storage in the fat cells move into healthy cells, this is when there can be severe damage to the cells. (Many people go in for 2 hours twice a day thinking they can speed up their detox). The liver can only process so much a day and produce so much bile enzymes.
The best way to see if the liver is in good health is to see how quickly your skin prunes after a hot bath. The liver when toxic is deficient in sterols an the skin will be resistant to water. After taking a long hot bath, see how long it takes your fingers to prune. If your liver if healthy or toxic, it will take longer or quicker for pruning to take place. Most people prune very quickly.
I know this won't make sense to some people but eating a high hat diet is better when trying to detox the toxins out of the fat in the body. This high fat intake can dilute the lipophilic toxins that are being released so they won't get reabsorbed back into the body. Yes, you heard it right, when trying to lose weight a "CALORIE ENHANCED" DIET is what I am recommending.
These high fat meals help to release bile from the liver so the actual lipids and toxins actually get processed and eliminated. People are so stupid they go on a low fat diet. Read a high school anatomy book on the gall bladder and liver section. Bile release is immediately triggered when there are fast in the stomach. The bile releasing helps the liver to dump the toxins its holding into the gut. Also when high fat is in the body it should dilute the bile with all these toxins in the gut so it won't get reabsorbed back into the body.
Note: the more fiber eaten while on this high fat diet helps bulk the toxins so they won't get reabsorbed. The best I've found is to get psyllium fiber from the health food store. I stir it very quick so it doesn't thicken before I you drink it. Most people think they will get fat from eating a lot of fat which is true but when eating the fiber it absorbs the toxins and fats to help so it doesn't get reabsorbed into the body and moves the fat quicker out of the intestines.
