The most expensive solid ceramic emitter. Construction is uses 3/4 inch thick Aspen wood. Warms up in 6 minutes. Their far infrared isolate mode is super intense but not as hot. This is as high end as I have found in saunas. The temperature can be set so the heaters stay on the entire time and give off FIR 100% of the time.
The HighTech sauna is my pick for the hight end rod saunas. Made with heavy poplar wood, one of the most expensive of all woods. Has a quiet ventilation fan on top. The metal sheets behind their ceramic rod heaters gives it super fluency. Their stainless steel sheets behind their heaters give this sauna a very unique feel. This is one of my favorite saunas I have reviewed in poplar wood with ceramic rods.
Full Spectrum Ceramic
Jade Combo - 1 Person
Goes to 195 degrees. The 4 infrared lamps are on top. The jade underneath gets warm. Felt like a BioMat on steroids. Best way I can describe this sauna. The intensity of the fluence is more than most people can handle, especially if going over 140 degrees. Gives off a lot of near infrared. Feels more like a traditional sauna.
JADE Far Infrared
HEAVENLY HEAT SAUNA
This is a super intense sauna with far infrared heaters as well as a stone Finish sauna. This company has been around since 1987. One of the pioneers. They have an air filter filtering out air in the vent and has no filler woods, such as plywoods or glues. Commercially constructed. These are in the same tier as Therasauna and HighTech saunas a fas as high end.
This is one of the highest fluence Japanese heater saunas. This has a similar feel as the Smarty sauna which also has the Japanese style heaters. This will make me sweat like a pig and for shorter sweat sessions it is one of my favorites. Very High fluence, very intense. Lots of heaters. Wood is non-fumigated. Vital Saunas is also known for their Canadian wood, not Chinese wood.
I have found that the easiest way to conceptualize this product industry is by breaking it down into a tiered rating system.
About 70% of customers end up purchasing a sauna from Tier 2 level. The rest choose a Tier 1 or Tier 3. Tier 2 is composed of companies that use very confusing marketing for their brands. The reason is because 90% of those brands in this tier are actually “Re-brands” coming from the same 4 manufacturers in China. So these brands are almost identical to one another and so each company just makes up claims and marketing hype to appear different than their competition.
For this reason I have divided up Tier 2 into two sub levels, A and B. The lower the tier the more drawbacks it has versus benefits. So Tier 2B would have maybe a limited warranty for example versus a Brand from Tier 2A.
Rating System based off the following:
Warranty, Grade of Wood, Wood Type, How Clean the Construction (off gassing chemicals), Emissivity rating/fluence rating of the emitters for infrared output, Generation of Emitters, EMF level, Warm up time, Cold Spots/Draftiness, and Customer Service. If you want specific information on each brand and how it rates on each of these categories please ask.
Tier 1:
A --SaunaCore, Therasauna (These have the most intense far infrared output emmissions)
(90% of saunas are re-brands from same four manufacturers in China and most saunas fall into this Tier)
NOTE: I tell people 98% of the health benefits of being in a sauna are not related to sweating.
I am of course happy to consult with you by phone, email, or text to help find the best brand and model for your unique set of needs. Please look to us to be the one stop solution to figuring out how to choose the right sauna without getting a headache in the process.

HEALTHMATE HALF-SAUNA
The Healthmate half sauna is one of the newest saunas I promote for people that do not want to heat their core body temperature up too quickly and want to be closed in. By heating the core up slower allows for longer sessions for those that have a low heat intolerance. This is becoming very popular for those that want to be on their computer or want to multitask. See my Review.
Ceramic - Standard Spectrum
Heaters need to be higher fluence as side heaters are further apart in larger saunas
HealthMate Renew II - 2 Person
The Healthmate Renew 2 person sauna is the model by Healthmate that most people ask about. This sauna has probably the most penetrating feel of all the carbon saunas I have tested. This is not a Full spectrum sauna but for far infrared it was very intense. I'd say the model that is on par as far as infrared intensity is the standard non full spectrum Vital saunas
The Neosauna is my most popular carbon/ceramic sauna. This is a full spectrum sauna that is one of the few saunas that has no cold spots. Their 2 person sauna raises my core quicker than any carbon sauna I have tested. This is the lowest EMF carbon sauna I have found and I own one of these personally so I can answer any question about this brand in detail. Their latest saunas have LED and now have Halo therapy.
The new TheraSauna TSP3737 is the latest Therasauna 1 person model. It is smaller than the 4746 model that has 8 heaters. This has 6 heaters unlike their 5753 model that has 8 heaters. This sauna is a 1 person sauna, not a 1 to 2 person sauna like the 4746 model.
This sauna retails for 2495 free shipping to the lower 48 states.
This is a moderately intense sauna with the Japanese style heaters. Many people want to stay in their sauna a long time. This is the sauna that I can stay in way longer than the other corners. I can't say its the best sauna on the market. It's a few steps above the Better Life sauna and slightly higher priced but affordable. It really depends on what the main reason the sauna is being used for.
This Therasauna corner model has the same heaters as the classic corner but the heat can be controlled instead of just set to high the whole time on full blast. Many people can't handle a traditional sauna but want a full spectrum sauna that can be turned down very low. With the Thersasauna with the variable control the sauna can stay at the same temperature the whole time.
The Healthmate Corner classic model has a super high fluence, way more than their smaller models. The entensity is on par with their carbon saunas. The feel is somewhat similar to the Therasauna but has more fluence. I don't feel the urge to move around as much when my body feels like a rotisserie chicken from a Therasauna. The Healthmate was the original sauna from way back in the 90s and has the original technology. See Review Here
Therasage Tent Sauna
I have tested many tent styles and this is the brand that had the most fluence of all the brands and felt
the best to me. This was also the lowest EMF tent sauna I've found.
This is a mat that has a carbon panel lined up under amethyst crystals. Instead of having the carbon panel on the wall, it is sandwiched in between the mat. The panel is closer to the body and the far infrared doesn't have to travel as far. Our new site is BiomatHealthCoach.com. We have a beginner to advanced protocol website that helps people on what to do once they get the Biomat. It is all about release and remove. Many people try to do lipolysis and don't heat their core first and do lymphatic exercise (rebounding) and did not do the first step first. See my Biomat page here.
Full Spectrum Carbon/Ceramic combo
Saunacore Infrared Infracore MAX SDTX4-4X4 and HORIZON MODELS
This is the most surround far infrared sauna I've ever been in. It feels the most intense at the lowest temperatures. This is a serious detox sauna and costs almost twice the price of a Therasauna (retail price). This has about twice the concenrated far infrared even of the Therasauna based on my reviews. I use this sauna now and have retired my Therasauna after one session in the Saunacore. This retails for $12,500 (Their 4x6 size retails for $14000. I have discounted rates and throw in free EWOT and Vibration machines in return for reviews for those that buy this sauna from me.
Update: We no longer promote saunas made or imported from China.
High wattage Carbon
HealthMate Renew Mate 1 Person
The Healthmate Renew Mat 1 sauna is the most popular carbon sauna that is 100% carbon based. This is built in the USA. The wood they use is very high quality, on par with the Therasauna. The heaters give a very intense heat, much higher than the Vital Sauna. Even though they are both carbon, the higher wattage really makes a difference.
Since Covid 19, the latest trend is spending 80 dollars on wood and getting a handy man to build a very small sauna where the heaters are close to the body (6 inches is super detoxing for lipolysis of visceral fat). These German import sauna heaters we use are not designed to heat up the room super hot but deliver super intense rays into the abdominal organs. With money spent on heaters instead of wood and fancy high emf control panels, people can afford to get a serious detox at a fraction of the price. Nearly 80% of the price of a sauna is the wood, controller and shipping. These are called Tiny Saunas. Kits for nearly all the companies (Clearlight, Healthmate, Therasauna, Saunacore, Heavenly Heat, and more). This is not normally offered but it is something you have to ask for. It is sold at a fraction of the cost if just buying the heater kit.

Serious Detox page - This is written on a pHD level for health practitioners. We only promote our most intense saunas for those in the most dire health situations or recovering from Lyme and many lymphatic health problems.
You will learn about lipolysis of the fat. Most saunas do not liquify the visceral, perennial, peritonial and pelvic fat. This is what the visceral armature heater does. Using a visceral heater must be controlled to keep the heat co-efficient and latent heat index in check. These are tiny saunas no more than 4 feet high. The heaters are close to the body so the rays stimulate the heat shock proteins in the body unlike saunas that just have ambient heat. The rays are very close to the body for the most intense therapy. (Those who study Salamander infrared charts will learn about this). These saunas cost as low as $29 up to $80 to build plus the cost of heaters of your choice. The top simply has mylar or a wool blanket that can be lowered based on the number of heaters and cubic feet of the tiny sauna. For these detox saunas it is recommended for most people to release and then remove the waste by lymphatic drainage immediately after the session or several times depending on body ecology. Those that have a cold bath they can go back and forth makes this a game changer (ice cubes are a must for the tub to create cold shock proteins). Please visit my Sauna Biohacking page for pictures of the 29 dollar dog fence sauna which is what I use personally and the heaters are in a 360 around my body. I sit on a wooden shower stool or I rebound during my sessions. Sessions usually last 16 to 20 minutes before "get me out of here".
I put 2 heaters under the seat and use a $39 cage. I put mylar foil around it and on top. This is super intense.
I rebound on my mini trampoline while soaking in far infrared rays at the same time. Game changing experience.
I use 2 heaters for this visceral heater. Keeping them close together concentrates more rays.
Tiny saunas keep the rays close to the body. Study the Salamander chart (below) and see why visceral heaters are mandatory for detox.
I urge everyone to fully understand how to detox in an infrared sauna before buying one. The cage on the left (green box) is super popular. It costs $179 instead of up to $3000 on wood. Customers don't know this but nearly every infrared sauna company sells their heaters to dealers without the wood.
Mylar foil (bought on Amazon for 30 dollars) is enough to insulate the sauna. They even make an 8 foot one so you can put an exercise bike or do yoga in there (or other things).
I offer heaters from nearly every company. This is the most affordable way to get name brand saunas at a fraction of the cost.
I urge anyone buying any brand of sauna to get the visceral heater that can be put as far or close to the visceral area. These are not sold with any saunas due to several reasons it is not allowed.
Contact me after reading my bio hack page if interested in one of these.
Finlandia Sauna Heater
Finlandia saunas are also another good brand that is several steps above the cheap Chinese imports and is sold at a reasonable price point. I have nothing against this brand but there is nothing really that stands out. I like it better than the Tylo but not as much as the Harvia.
The Saunacore heaters are the most expensive heaters and are only worth it if they are going to be used all day long like in a gym or spa or if using it at home and want a more wet experience than mainly a dry experience. Silver soldering and surgical steel make this really expensive.
The Harvia heater is the one that people ask about most since it is the most advertised. It is one of the top 2 heaters that I promote and is the best one for those that are not looking for the the most expensive but want a better sauna heater than the other brands I reviewed.
The Scandia sauna heater is the 3rd most inquired about heater. It is not super expensive but it is not as cheap as the Chinese imports that 1 out of every 3 callers call in to my site about. For those that can't afford the Harvia this would be the one that I recommend. This is only inquired about from those that already have it.
I have reviewed this heater, actually several of their models. It is a good heater at the price point it's at but it is so rarely asked about. It is one of the pioneer companies from way back and the day. They do have more bells and whistle than most heaters if that is what you are looking for.
I use 3 visceral heaters in parallel and my session time is cut down to a third. Most people use 2 heaters for their visceral heater. I always have a fan to blow the latent heat away so I can bring the heater closer to my by abdomen.
Please get an understanding of the following on my website:
Lipolysis of fat from heaters - Heat Shock Proteins - Latent Heat - Heat Co-efficient - Black Body Radiation
I offer subsidized prices for those in dire health and financial situations.
The Salamander radiant emission grid can be used to determine the proper ceramic emitter spacing when used in an application such as an infrared panel. In order to achieve an even heat pattern it is critical that the emitters are spaced so that their radiant emission patterns overlap when reaching the target. The more overlap that occurs, the more even the heat will be across the face of the product being heated. The area of highest radiant emission intensity for a single emitter is shown within the two dark crossed lines on the grid. In order for element emissions to overlap, the dashed line shows an intersection point at a distance of 7″ will occur if the emitters are placed a distance of 2″ apart from edge to edge. This same concept should be used to either determine the distance to place the product if using an existing panel, or placement of emitters if building a panel to guarantee radiant emission overlap.
The term “blackbody radiation” was derived from an experiment in cavity radiation. A small hole was drilled into an object and light was focused into the hole. The hole (cavity) appeared to be black. Light that entered the cavity is trapped and absorbed into the object allowing no light to escape. Radiant energy emitted from a “blackbody” source is dependent only on the temperature of the cavity walls and is not at all dependent on any other characteristic of the source such as color.
Concave Heater
Convex Heater
Before if using a sauna for detox: Most sauna heaters are either convex or flat (carbon is flat, most ceramic heaters are not concave).
If you study Salamander Infrared heating charts, you will find that concave heaters overlap the rays coming out of the heater, especially when it has a concave reflector behind the heater to get the backside of the heater and reflects those rays. There are 2 main ways infrared saunas heat the person. Convection or radiation. Convection is when just the air in the sauna is heated and the heaters are more than 2 to 6 inches away from the body. Little to no FIR radiation is absorbed for lipolysis and heat shock proteins. I will not sell anyone a sauna unless they are familiar on how infrared heat works on the body.
HUUM SAUNA HEATERS
We now add Huum heaters to far infrared saunas for whole body vasodilation. For those that normally spend an hour in an infrared sauna, having a heater that goes up to 230 degrees will cut down the time in a sauna almost in half.
We offer discounts on all HUUM heaters.
Contact me if you want to add one of these heaters to your sauna or you need it for a traditional sauna.
This is what I use for my sauna now. The tables are about 50 dollars each and all I do is lay under the table after I cut 2 rectangles out. I have a fan blowing on me so I can absorb the rays without getting too hot.
Without having a fan it is nearly impossible to stay under the sauna table. When I feel the rays, just the rays of the heater and blow the latent heat away, that is when I know the heater is doing the job.
These are the visceral heaters that I use on my bio hacking page here. I can sell the heaters but on Amazon you can get these wood tables that fold. For detox, only one table for most people is used for detox. If losing weight I hold in the heat with wool blankets or Mylar.
Rectangles must be cut out and the heaters should not be nailed under the table. The heat from the back of the heater needs to escape.
It is hard for me to go back to sitting in a sauna after you experience laying down where the heaters are close to the body.
